Coca-Cola Africa in move to spur development (06/05/07)

 

Coca-Cola Africa Foundation, in partnership with Students in Free Enterprises, this week launched an ambitious programme to enrich communities through enterprises growth, a move aimed to spur development in the country.

 
 
The partnership seeks be a catalyst for the development of future leaders who will create a better world through participation in business, youth professional development, entrepreneurial development and community development

The programme, which will involve over 130 student teams, would identify needs in the community for entrepreneurship education and training with the objective to develop and deliver outreach projects in response to community needs.

It also seeks to measure the impact of their participants' efforts and the degree of economic opportunities they create.

Coca-Cola East and Central Africa Division senior public and community affairs manager Mrs Sherree Shereni said the programme was designed to help students develop key success skills and to expose them to the real world and ultimately develop an entrepreneurial mindset.
