Zambia receives 45 mln dollars grant from Denmark (27/03/07)

The Danish government has so far given Zambia a total of 45 million U.S. dollars as grant for infrastructure development, water and sanitation, education and good governance, an envoy has said.

Danish ambassador to Zambia Orla Bakdal was cited by Zambia News and Information Service (ZANIS) as saying on Monday his government was ready to work with the Zambian government in various development undertakings.

The envoy said this when he toured a Danish funded project in Livingstone Institute of Business and Engineering Studies (LIBES) in the country's Southern Province.

Bakdal lauded the Zambian government for its prudence in the management of resources and hoped that the grant would help in the improvement of infrastructure and good governance in the country.
