Government approves USD 200 million industrial project (26/03/07)

 

Angolan Government Friday in Luanda approved a Usd 200 million private investment project called "Palanca Cimento", that comprises the construction of an industrial complex for production of clinker and cement.

 
 
The industrial complex that will be built in 24 months in the locality of Hanha, district of Lobito, central Benguela province, will include commercial facilities, a load quay, distribution centres and electricity and water treatment stations.

The main "Palanca Cimento" project investors, according to a press release from the extraordinary session of the Cabinet Council, chaired by Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, are the Angolan group GEMA, S.A. and the US consortium BGGA Group Ventures 1, LLP.

Under the Public Investment Programme, the Cabinet also authorised the adjudication of a contract between the Angola Roads Institute and CCL Peninsular, for the rehabilitation of the bridges on the Saurimo/DalaMuconda/Luau and Quibala/Ponte roads over Keve river.
