More than 2,000 classrooms built in six years (26/08/08)

 

At least 2,627 new classrooms have been built and equipped since 2002 by the Government of central Huambo province, to the benefit of about 3.5 million students attending lessons in two shifts.

 
 
According to a note from the provincial Government that reached Angop on Monday, another 841 classrooms were rebuilt and furnished over the last six years.

According to the note, the construction of the new classrooms has led to the expansion of the school network into all localities of the province. It adds that since 2002 now, the province's health network has grown a lot with the construction of 146 new hospital facilities.

Electric generators have also been installed in the headquarters of the main districts and communes of the province, as well water treatment and supply facilities in the last six years of peace in the country.
