UAE's RCA continues humanitarian operations in Sudan (18/08/08)

 

Head of the UAE's Red Crescent Authority (RCA) to Sudan Bakhit Slaim Al-Muhairi and Secretary General of Sudan's Al-Zubair Charity Dr. Ibrahim Abdul Haleem Al-Ameen yesterday viewed progress on RCA's projects in Sudan.

 
 
Thanking the UAE leaderships' efforts to help out underprivileged people in Sudan, Al-Ameen said RCA's Sudan operations include building 43 mosques, 5 dispensaries, 3 schools 4 endowments as well as drilling 75 waterwells and has sponsored more than 1231 orphans in Khartoum, Kasla, Um Darman, North Sudan and other states.

UAE's most recent relief consignment to Sudan carried 40 tonnes of blankets, food stuff and palm dates to Gadaref state where thousands were made homeless by floods.

RCA also granted the amount of USD 13.680 as financial support to Gadaref Health Academy which accomodates 800 students. A cheque was delivered to the managing director of Academy by UAE Charge D'Affaires in Khartoum Abdul Aziz Al-Mahmoud.
