Fresh water for Somalia's children and their families (12/08/08)

Children should not be collecting water from muddy holes, according to Mercy-USA. During the coming few months, Mercy-USA for Aid and Development is planning to dig seven new wells in two districts of southern Somalia and to repair and rehab 11 existing wells.

These wells will provide fresh drinking water to approximately 13,435 families which is equal to roughly 80,600 people.

Since 1998, Mercy-USA has dug, repaired and rehabilitated 95 wells in Somalia.
