Neil Turner has 20 years of experience working for non-governmental, UN and donor organisations in both development and emergency situations including a specialism in emergency preparedness. Since 1992 he has worked mainly for Save the Children, principally in East, Central and West Africa and the Balkans. He has experience in programme and operational management, advocacy, fundraising and external relations, including large-scale relief, food security, protection, health and education projects.
From 2002-2005 he managed a team of technical sectoral advisors for the Save the Children Regional Office; from 2005-2007 he was Country Director for the Save the Children South Sudan Programme and from 2007 to date he has served as Business Development Manager for Save the Children West and Central Africa Region. Mr Turner has an academic background in philosophy and agricultural development economics. He also worked as a secondary school teacher in Sudan and volunteered with the Anti-Slavery Society and Samburu Aid in Africa.
