Maurice Bisau

Maurice Kakai Bisau is the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Global Fleet Manager, a role newly created to revamp and re-engineer the organisation's global fleet management, aimed at enhancing fleet capacity and transport efficiency.

A supply professional with over 16 years working experience in the function, he has diverse experience in working in multi sectors, which includes a commercial vehicle production environment (General Motors East Africa), non-governmental set-ups (International Centre for Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE) and The African Medical Research Foundation - AMREF) and international organisations such as the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). He has worked for the United Nations for the last seven years.

With UNHCR he has served as a Supply Officer in Afghanistan and later as a Supply Officer at the Headquarters in Geneva, where he headed the technical unit responsible for procurement of fleet assets, telecommunication and information technology equipment among others. He has also served as an Emergency Supply Officer in the Emergency Preparedness and Response section, managing UNHCR Global Central Emergency stockpiles.

He is an International Business Administration University Graduate from the United States International University of Africa (USIU-A). He also holds supply postgraduate professional qualifications and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies (United Kingdom).
